In the dark...

It's dark and I can't see my way
I'm stumbling around
Disoriented
Groping for a familiar marker
Everything I know is in question
Nothing is certain anymore

It's dark and I'm falling
Arms flailing about
Lord will you rescue me
Will your arms bear me up?
When I can't see you
Lord do you still see me?

It's dark and I'm crying
Life is leaving me behind
My faith is failing in this valley
Lord have mercy on me!
Be my eyes when I cannot see
Give me something to hold on to
In the dark...

In the stillness of the night,
when darkness blight our light
and our heart faints for fear
for life's burden we never may bear

But God's soothing voice drys all tears
He speaks in subtle tunes and ease our pains
His words calms our fear all through the years
And for every pain he gives us gains!

Weeping may endure for a while
But joy comes in the morning.
For the darker your night,
the brighter your morning!

Lead, kindly Light,
amid th’encircling gloom,
lead Thou me on!
The night is dark,
and I am far from home;
lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet;
I do not ask to see
The distant scene;
one step enough for me.

Please:

"Hold on... with a Hannah type of Hope"

"Tribulation works patience,
patience works experience,
and experience works hope....
Hope maketh not ashamed"

It is well, trust me things are not as bad as you might think. The fact that you can still blog says you are OK.
Just try to keep being thankful, for it is said:
"It's one who is thoughtless that remains thankless"

I find some comfort in Seal's lyrics from "If its in my mind, it's on my face."

If you can't find your place in this world,
Your life means something to me
Feels like every Monday's just a day in the week
If you're lonely, and it seems like reaching up might break you down, don't go under

If I could fly, I'd spread my wings
In time to free you from these foolish things
And we won't be back for sure
If it's in my mind, it's on my face
Wish I could take you to a better place
And we just might miss your call

No one knows your face in the world, maybe that's your reason to leave
I think you might be someone that I came to see
You're real, if you feel like waking up then come around
Do you wonder?

If I could fly, I'd spread my wings
In time to free you from these foolish things
And we won't be back for sure
If it's in my mind, it's on my face
Wish I could take you to another place
And we just might miss your call

'cause we live in the world
We live in the world
We live in the world
We're free in this world

I have made mistakes I've wasted life, and I've been down you see
Why are the friends I have could not make time for me?
I have lost my face I've broken ground, I've been around you know
Far are the loudest voice that waits inside, the time is now

If I could fly, I'd spread my wings
In time to free you from these foolish things
And we won't be back for sure
If it's in my mind, it's on my face
Wish I could take you to better place
And we just might miss your call

If you can't find your place in this world, your life means something to me
Feels like every Monday's just a day in the week
If you're lonely, and it seems like reaching up might break you down, don't go under

@Anonymous 4:26pm: those verses have resonated with me since I first cam across them a few years ago.

@everyone: thanks for the words of encouragement. I actually wrote the poem last year, at a time when life was threatening to take me under. But I thank God that I've now come out of that dark place. I just decided to post it because the words are still so real to me.
So yall dont need to worry about me; I'm a-ok!!!!!!
